Replace the notorious short haul modems by a pair of reliable
and easy-to-use LAWNII, the second generation of the Local Area Wireless Network
that provides a surge-free one-to-one RS-232 Connection. LAWNII can work in
pairs just like an RS-232 cable that has two ends. LAWNIIs can also work as a
multidrop network to connect a master to multiple slaves, just like an RS-485
network.
The installation of LAWNII is very easy. You only need a PC or dumb terminal
to set up all LAWNIIs. You use the terminal or the terminal emulation program to
send commands to each LAWNII. For example, you can assign an unique node name
and destination name to each LAWNII, specify the serial port of the LAWNII to
match with the port that it will be connected to or perform functional test to
evaluate the path robustness. Once the settings are installed, they will be kept
by an EEPROM and the terminal is no longer needed. And the LAWNII is ready to go
anywhere!
LAWNII provides an easy solution for the cabling problem. LAWNII
can be used with any equipment that has a standard RS-232 port like a PC,
printer, plotter, modem, robot, point-of-sale scanner, terminal, data collection
card, etc.. The applications are endless.
Your data is checked by the receiving LAWNII and if it is not correct, it is
automatically re-sent. So you can depend on LAWNII to deliver data that is 100%
correct, guaranteed.
Since we work on an advanced spread spectrum technology that supports a
typical 110db path loss, your data transmissions don't get interfered with and
your data link can maintain a robust connection for more than 300 feet
indoors.
Since we use packet radio technology, you can operate many LAWNIIs at the
same time without causing interference to each other. LAWNII uses the CSMA/CD
technique to prevent collision.
The LAWNII also has an elegant housing that protects the internal antenna so
that the antenna is well tuned all the time and the radio performance is always
repeatable. The internal antenna will never be broken or detuned and it reduces
the antenna problem to the minimum.
